OHS ADVISOR-GRAMPIANS REGION
 
Ambulance Victoria (AV) is currently recruiting for an OHS Advisor to join our P eople and Community division. Based at our Mount Helen office, this position is a permanent full time role.
 
Reporting to the OHS Team Leader, the primary objective of this position is to provide and implement proactive strategies to eliminate or mitigate occupational health and safety hazards and associated risks inherent in business operations.
 
As an OHS Advisor, your duties will include:
  •  Assisting AV and the Regional Management Team in meeting statutory obligations under the OHS Act,  Regulations, standards or guidance material
  • Assisting with the development of OHS risk reduction plans, defining roles and responsibilitie
  • Coordinating annual workplace safety inspections
  •   Maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of AV’s OHS Management System
  •  Providing on-the-job education and training to managers and staff
 
The successful applicant will have a proven background in OHS, with extensive knowledge and understanding of OHS Legislation, supported by tertiary qualification in OHS or a related allied health discipline. Substantial experience in the implementation, maintenance and review of safety management (AS/NZS 4801:2001, SafteyMap or equivalent) and safety audits is a necessary pre-requisite for this role. The successful applicant will have exceptional communication skills and a well developed ability to analyse and problem solve. Furthermore, time management and attention to detail are imperative to success to this role.
